In the scope of the “Development and Education in Gifted Students – ECE205” course offered to students in the TED University Pre-School Education Program, theoretical lecture material and content is continually supported by active learning methods to ensure sufficient retention of information. Students go through practical and applied activities and diagnostic methods for specific properties and attributes of gifted individuals, different educational models for gifted children and methods for enrichment and differentiation of their education. To this end, different methods used in the course include poster preparation and presentation related to specific characteristics of gifted children (Stereotypes and Realities about Gifted Children), development of activities to establish critical thinking and logical reasoning connections similar to those observed in gifted children (Logical Reasoning Activities), analysis of movies related to gifted children (Gifted Movie Analysis) as well as survey activities to explore behavioral traits of gifted individuals.
