Within the scope of the course PECE 201 – Alternative Approaches and Models in Early Childhood Education, conducted by Assistant Professor Fatma Yalçın, the session hosted Assistant Professor Funda Eda Tonga Çabuk as a guest speaker.

As part of her doctoral research, Dr. Funda Eda Tonga Çabuk has developed a program focusing on mindfulness in early childhood education. Drawing on her experiences, she shared insights with pre-service teachers on the meaning of the mindfulness approach, its historical background, mindfulness programs implemented in early childhood education worldwide, and activities and materials that can be applied with children in Türkiye within this framework.

Following a discussion on how mindfulness activities can be integrated into the daily routine, pre-service teachers prepared sample mindfulness activities provided to them. This process contributed to making the learning experience more concrete for the pre-service teachers.

We would like to thank Assistant Professor Funda Eda Tonga Çabuk for her valuable contributions and for sharing her expertise with our students.
