Observation of IB Education within the Scope of the PECE 201 Course: Field Trip to Özel Nesibe Aydın Educational Institutions Gölbaşı Kindergarten

Within the scope of the PECE 201 – Alternative Approaches and Models in Early Childhood Education course, conducted by Assist. Prof. Fatma Yalçın, our pre-service teachers visited Nesibe Aydın Educational Institutions Gölbaşı Kindergarten.
As part of this field trip, teacher candidates had the opportunity to observe the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB-PYP), which was theoretically addressed in the course, and its practical implementations on-site. During the visit, students examined the school’s physical learning environments, classroom materials, the implementation of inquiry units, children’s agency in the learning process, and assessment practices.
This experience made a significant contribution to pre-service teachers’ understanding of how the IB-PYP approach is implemented in early childhood education through concrete examples.
