Waldorf Pedagogy in Practice: TEDU ECE Alumni Shares Her Experience in PECE 201 Course

Within the scope of PECE 201 – Alternative Approaches and Methods in Early Childhood Education, led by Dr. Fatma Yalçın, TEDU ECE welcomed Burcu Şahbaz, a 2023 graduate of the program, as a guest speaker.
Drawing on her work at Ankara Waldorf Forest Kindergarten, Şahbaz shared insights into the philosophy of Waldorf pedagogy, the teacher’s role, and the rhythm and artistry of daily routines in Waldorf classrooms.
During the session, students experienced a Waldorf fairy tale performed through the table theatre technique, followed by a hands-on workshop using the wet-on-wet painting method — one of the signature artistic practices of Waldorf education.
This session offered students a valuable opportunity to experience the aesthetic, spiritual, and holistic essence of Waldorf pedagogy in practice.
