Early Childhood Education Models and Approaches were mentioned in the “Introduction to Early Childhood Education” (ECE 201-ECEP101) course. Historical and theoretical bases of the models, the nature of the curriculum practices, basic elements of the models, activities held in the models, teachers’ role and the assessment elements were mentioned throughout the course. Sudents involved in the course, met with Montessori Materials which are considered primary elements of the Montessori Approach and also had a chance of conducting some hands-on  experiences. Through engaging in practice of materials, they have learnt how to support practical life skills of children, how to stimulate children’s senses, enrich experiences, and how to use academic materials to promote reading, writing and mathemetical skills of young children.
