As part of the PECE406 course “Visual Arts Education and Material Development in Early Childhood,” conducted by Assoc. Prof. Sühendan Er, a visit was organized to the Ankara University Toy Museum with our senior pre-service teacher students enrolled in the course.
During the visit, Elif Bülbül, who holds a master’s degree in Museum Education, provided information about the toys exhibited in the museum, different types of toys, and their stories. In addition, key concepts related to Museum Education and Art Education in Museums were emphasized.

In the PECE 204 – Early Childhood Mathematics Education course, conducted by Dr. Fatma Yalçın from the Department of Early Childhood Education at TED University, the course content has been enriched this year to support pre-service teachers’ professional development and enhance their competencies in developmentally appropriate technology use. In this context, augmented and virtual reality applications, as well as the use of 3D printers, were integrated into the course.
The course PECE406 – Early Childhood Visual Arts Education and Material Development, conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sühendan Er, hosted Gözde Özcan, who, after years of experience in preschool teaching, continues her career focusing on rhythm and drum education with children.
In the guest lecture, various rhythm activities were carried out with the 4th-year pre-service preschool teachers taking the course, using body percussion, coordination hoops, rhythm sticks, and colorful scarves; hands-on practices were conducted together with the teacher candidates.
Within the scope of the PECE 302 – Classroom Management in Early Childhood Education course, conducted by Dr. Melike Kandemir, Banu Özkul, a preschool teacher at Mehmet Meto Kindergarten, participated as the guest speaker.
In the PECE 408 School Readiness and Early Literacy course taught by Assist. Prof. Dr. Funda Eda Tonga Çabuk, Research Assistant Hamide Nur Şimşekoğlu joined us as a guest speaker. As part of her master’s thesis, she shared engaging examples of activities and instructional materials designed to support early literacy skills. Her practical insights and examples provided valuable inspiration for our pre-service teachers. We sincerely thank her for her valuable contributions.
Dr. Seçil Yücelyiğit, who worked at the TED University Faculty of Education, Department of Preschool Education between 2018 and 2023, was invited as a guest lecturer to the PECE406 – Visual Arts Education and Material Development in Early Childhood course, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sühendan Er and assisted by Graduate Research Assistant Nur Şimşekoğlu.
Within the scope of the PECE 102 – Practicum I, conducted by the Program of Early Childhood Education at TED University, teacher candidates have begun their observation practices under the supervision of Dr. Fatma Yalçın and Dr. Melike Kandemir. In this context, students visited the Nursery and Day Care Center of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change and Dr. Ufuk Ege Kindergarten, and started their observation studies as of March 3, 2026, after collaboration with school administrators and teachers.
As the Faculty of Education, we hosted our Preschool Teacher Training preparatory class students at our faculty. During this meeting, which took place on March 5, 2026, our students had the opportunity to explore the "Teacher+" model, representing the Faculty of Education's vision for next-generation teaching, and experiential learning spaces structured with Learning Engineering competencies.
Within the framework of our Faculty’s Learning Engineering and Teacher+ vision, we look forward to welcoming you to experience technology, closely observe digital production processes, and take an inspiring first step in your teaching journey as future educators.
At the same time, this gathering offers a valuable opportunity for us to come together and for you to become more familiar with our department’s academic environment.
