TED University Preschool Teaching 4th grade students Azra İrem Okvuran, Gökçen Ekmen and Merve Bayram visited TED Trabzon College on November 25-26-27, 2024 as part of the TED Ambassadors Project carried out in collaboration with the Turkish Education Association and TED University.

On 12.11.2024, department project coordinator Lect. Assist. Melike Kandemir organized an information meeting for the early childhood education department of the TED Ambassador project. At the meeting, information about the application to the project, and the purpose and functioning of the project was shared. In addition, Hamide Nur Şimşekoğlu, one of the project participants last semester, shared her experiences with the project.

On November 11, 2024, Nuray Toruntay, a preschool teacher working in Ankara Private Tevfik Fikret Kindergarten, was invited as a guest to the PECE403 “Play in Early Childhood Education” course conducted by Lecturer Melike Kandemir. Our guest, who has 20 years of teaching experience in her field, presented examples of effective practices related to play, shared her teaching experiences, and shared her experiences and thoughts on how theory and practice can be combined in the field of play in early childhood education.

The 3rd meeting of the TEDU Early Childhood Education Program Advisory Board was held on Friday, October 11, 2024, at TED University. The meeting started with a presentation by the Head of the Preschool Education Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Buldu about the program, and then the department advisory board members evaluated the program's functioning and its areas of improvement. Our Science Fair "The Adventures of Little Explorers-2" Took Place!

Under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Elif Buldu and Research Assistant Tuba Özgül Torun, 30 creative science experiments designed by our future teacher candidates as part of the PECE202 Early Childhood Science Education course were carried out with the enthusiastic participation of 30 young explorers aged 5-6 from a public kindergarten in Ankara. 👩‍🔬🧑‍🔬

On April 26, 2024, Melek Eda Şen, a preschool teacher working in a public kindergarten, was invited as a guest to the PECE302/EDUC301 “Classroom Management” course conducted by Lecturer Melike Kandemir. Our guest, who has 15 years of teaching experience in her field, presented examples of effective classroom management practices to our students, shared her teaching experiences, and shared her experiences and thoughts on how theory and practice can be combined in the field of classroom management.

Our faculty members from TED University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sühendan Er, Instructor Nergis Hazal Yılmaztürk, Research Assistant Tuba Özgül, and Prof. Dr. Figen Çok from Başkent University contributed to a chapter titled "A New Dimension in Child Development: Children Shared by Parents on Social Media (Sharenting)" in the book "Child Psychology" edited by Prof. Dr. Seval Erden Çınar and published by Pegem Akademik Yayıncılık.

On March 15, 2024, we visited the Anatolian Folklore Foundation with our pre-service teachers within the scope of ECEP255/EGEP255 "Traditional Children's Games" course which is given by Lecturer Melike Kandemir. During our visit, we had a conversation with the president of the foundation, Mr. Rüştü Akar, about traditional children's games. We would like to thank him for his valuable sharing and contribution to our students' understanding of traditional children's games in early childhood.
