This semester, our first-year pre-service teachers have begun their observations as part of the PECE 402 – School Experience I course, taught by Dr. Melike Kandemir and Dr. Funda Eda Tonga Çabuk. Following introductory and informational meetings with school administrators and teachers at TED Ankara College, they have now embarked on their observation process.
Gözde Özcan participated as a guest in the PECE406 “Visual Art Education and Material Development in Early Childhood” course conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sühendan Er. Our guest shared the rhythm activities in early childhood with the prospective teachers taking the course. We thank her for her valuable contribution to our course.

Our TEDU Early Childhood Education Program graduate, children's yoga instructor Merve Aksu, participated as a guest in the PECE406 "Visual Art Education and Material Development in Early Childhood" course conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sühendan Er. Our guest shared her experiences by providing effective classroom application examples and activities that brought yoga and art together to the teacher candidates taking the course. We would like to thank her for her valuable sharing and contribution to our students' effective educational practices.
Our 4th grade prospective teachers started their practices after the introductory and informative meetings with the school administrators and teachers at “TED Ankara College” and “ABC College” schools this semester within the scope of PECE402 “Teaching Practice-2” course.

On November 12, 2024, Emine Zuhal Şayır, a preschool teacher working at a public preschool, was invited as a guest speaker to the PECE301/ECEP305 “Principles and Methods in Early Childhood Education” course, taught by Lecturer Melike Kandemir. Our guest presented examples of effective classroom practices to the students and shared her teaching experiences. We extend our gratitude to her for her valuable contributions.
On December 3, 2024, the PECE403 "Play in Early Childhood Education" course, taught by Lecturer Melike Kandemir, included a visit to the Ankara Toy Museum. During the guided tour, the toys in the museum's collection were examined, and discussions were held on the cultural and historical significance of toys from the past to the present. We would like to express our gratitude to the Ankara Toy Museum for enriching our pre-service teachers' knowledge and experiences regarding play and toys.
On December 6, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sühendan ER was invited as a guest speaker to the PECE430 “Children’s Rights” course, taught by Lecturer Melike Kandemir and assisted by Research Assistant Hamide Nur Şimşekoğlu. Our guest delivered a seminar to the students on the topic of sharenting. She raised awareness among pre-service teachers about what sharenting entails, how children’s rights can be protected on digital platforms, and the importance of raising parental awareness on the matter. We extend our gratitude to her for her valuable contributions.
